One allergen is cleared per visit. Each individual has a different genetic make up and health history so the number of sessions required varies from one individual to another. For some people allergens are cleared immediately, however, for others it may take many sessions to accomplish the desired results.
Can Allergies cause real illness?
Allergies can definitely cause illness. Continuous contact with an allergen produces toxins in the body, and causes blockages in the meridians. If these blockages are not cleared, reactions to the allergens often produce symptoms that mimic other diseases.

How do I discover and treat my allergies?
There are many conventional western medical tests for allergies including an inter-dermal test, patch-test, scratch test, and various other blood tests such as the RAST test and the ELIZA test, which can identify dozens of allergens from one test or from one blood sample. Another standard treatment is using drugs, either antihistamines or drugs like Claritin, Piriton or steroids to control allergic symptoms. The most effective treatment option until now has been complete avoidance of the offending allergens. In most cases, patients must have had previous exposure to the allergen to get an accurate result.
How does NAET test allergies/hypersensitivities and correct them?
NAET uses a number of different testing procedures, but the primary method of testing on a visit-to-visit basis is Neurosensitivity Testing. After receiving a negative response, the practitioner applies acupressure on two sets of acupuncture points running along the sides of the spine bilaterally. The first set of points actually activates the nervous system, particularly the parasympathetic system, which reprograms the body’s response to the substance. The second set of points stimulates the inner bladder meridian, which is the acupuncture meridian that connects with all of the other meridians and internal organs. The purpose of stimulating this meridian is to begin moving energy, which is blocked as a response to an allergen. Stagnant energy, according to acupuncture principles, can cause stress throughout the body, and this procedure will reduce the stress. Following this procedure, the patient is asked to maintain contact with the substance for another 15 to 20 minutes. During this time, the body acclimates to a new state wherein there is no allergic response to the substance. Patients are provided with acupuncture during this period if they wish to do so. Following this procedure, the person should avoid contact with the substance or allergen that triggered the response for a period of 25 hours if possible. Items that cause anaphylaxis are treated in a similar way, but are avoided for a much longer time period. We do not advise using the anaphylaxis items until they are cleared according to Western Lab tests. Anaphylaxis items normally take several treatments, depending on each individual.

Every cell in our body relies on the food that we eat, digest and absorb. If our body cannot or will not absorb a nutrient, due to hypersensitivity to that nutrient, this will result in a deficiency and will change your physiology and your health that could compromise your immune system.
